Geography A-Level is a significant step up because it demands two distinct skill sets simultaneously. Students must master the rigorous scientific processes of the Water and Carbon cycles while also debating complex socio-political issues like Global Governance and Human Rights.
The real challenge, and where most grades are lost, is "synopticity": the ability to make connections between these disparate topics and evaluate them critically under timed conditions.
Our tuition focuses on structured evaluation.
We teach students how to manipulate their case studies to answer the specific question asked, ensuring that they can argue the "extent" of a hazard or the "success" of a regeneration project rather than just describing what happened.

While the case studies may differ, the assessment structure dictates the winning strategy.
We match students with tutors who are experts in the specific requirements of their specification.
Edexcel: We provide specialised preparation for the feared Paper 3 "Synoptic Investigation," teaching students how to analyse the resource booklet quickly so that they can construct a coherent argument based on unseen data.
AQA: We focus on the structure of the 20-mark essay questions, ensuring that students know how to sustain a critical line of argument and reach a substantiated conclusion to hit the top level descriptors.
OCR: We target the unique "Geographical Debates" component, helping students to navigate the detailed content of topics like Disease Dilemmas or Future of Food so that their evaluation is grounded in specific evidence.
WJEC/Eduqas: We specialise in the "Contemporary Themes" and "Global Governance" units, ensuring that students can apply the specific concepts of Place and Space to their chosen fieldwork and exam questions.

"The independent school fee increases due to the new VAT rules meant that had to change our daughter's school for her final year. We put some of the savings towards A-Level tuition for her to ensure she gets the attention she needs, and now she's scoring even better than she was at her old school!"
