Music is a demanding subject that requires a mix of creative talent and technical academic knowledge.
We match students with tutors who can support the three core pillars of the course while ensuring the written analysis is as strong as the performance.
The listening exam is often the most difficult part of the grade.
We teach students how to identify specific musical elements, such as instrumentation, texture, and harmony, in both their set works and unfamiliar pieces.

The Cambridge IGCSE has a very distinct focus on "World Music" and requires students to identify instruments and structures from specific global traditions.
We provide specialised resources for these "Prescribed Focus" topics that do not appear in the domestic GCSE courses.

"Avalon tutored our son for five of his GCSEs, with five different tutors meeting with him for an hour per week to help him with topics he was struggling with. Thanks to them, he got 9s in all five subjects!"
