Gain a strategic understanding of how organizations operate and succeed in a dynamic global environment.

£105/hour

The IB Business Management course explores the fundamental principles of business through the lenses of change, culture, ethics, and globalisation. You will study how various business functions, such as marketing, human resources, finance, and operations, work together to achieve organisational goals.

At Avalon Education, our tutors help you move beyond memorising definitions. Our support focuses on teaching you how to apply business tools and theories to real world case studies, which is essential for achieving a Grade 7.

Our approach centers on developing your ability to evaluate business decisions from multiple perspectives. Tutors guide you through the use of analytical tools like SWOT, STEEPLE, and various financial ratios to ensure your arguments are backed by rigorous evidence.

Because the exams often require you to respond to unseen case studies, our sessions are designed to sharpen your quick thinking and structural precision. We provide the frameworks needed to write high level evaluative essays, ensuring you are fully prepared for each component of the IB assessment.

Paper 1: This exam is based on a pre-released statement or case study. We help you analyse the specific context provided by the IB and prepare potential responses to questions about the organisation's strategic direction.

Paper 2: This paper consists of structured questions and a research based essay on a real world organization you have studied. We help you refine your organisational case study and practice applying business concepts to the specific examination prompts.

The Internal Assessment (IA): Both SL and HL students complete a research project. For SL, this is a written commentary on a real business issue, while for HL, it is a research proposal and report. Our tutors act as mentors to help you select a suitable business, gather primary or secondary data, and structure a professional, evaluative report.

Paper 3 (HL only): This exam focuses on a social enterprise and requires you to identify and analyse a specific human resource or operational problem. We teach you how to recommend a strategic way forward while considering the unique needs of a social-purpose business.
