The IB English A: Literature course is for students who love reading and want to understand how authors build meaning in their writing. Unlike the Language and Literature course, this subject focuses entirely on literary works such as poetry, plays, and novels from different times and places.

The Individual Oral: (IO) The IO is a formal talk where you connect a passage from a book to a Global Issue. We help you choose a strong topic, select the right lines to analyse, and practice your delivery so you stay calm and clear during the assessment.
Paper 1 & Paper 2: The final exams require you to analyse a text you haven't seen before and write a comparative essay on the books you have studied. We use mock exams and detailed feedback to improve your timing and show you how to structure a top-mark response.
The HL Essay: Higher Level students write a formal 1,200 to 1,500 word essay on a topic of their choice. Our tutors act as mentors, helping you develop a sharp research question and a high-level argument that shows off your independent thinking.
