History at A-Level is fundamentally different from GCSE. It is not enough to simply recall dates and events; students must move beyond narrative description to produce rigorous analytical arguments.
The volume of content is often overwhelming, and many students struggle to prioritise information, resulting in essays that are heavy on facts but light on evaluation.
Our tuition focuses on historical thinking. We teach students how to weigh causes, assess significance, and challenge interpretations, ensuring that they can construct a sustained, judgmental argument that answers the specific question rather than just dumping knowledge on the page.

The era studied changes, but the skills required to pass are dictated entirely by the exam board.

AQA: We focus on the distinct skills required for the "Breadth" and "Depth" components, ensuring that students know how to handle the "Historical Interpretations" questions in Component 1 without drifting into general narrative.
Edexcel: We guide students through the rigorous source analysis process, focusing on Nature, Origin, and Purpose, so that they can evaluate the utility of evidence with the precision required for the Paper 1 and 2 enquiry topics.
OCR: We target the unique "Thematic Study," helping students to synthesise events across 100+ years and pick out long-term trends, ensuring that their synthesis essays meet the high demands of the mark scheme.
WJEC/Eduqas: We specialise in the Period and Depth studies, teaching students how to integrate contemporary sources with their own knowledge to build the specific evaluative judgements required by the Welsh board.
