The IB Philosophy course encourages students to think critically about the nature of being, the basis of knowledge, and the principles of ethical conduct. You will engage with the works of major philosophers while developing your own ability to construct and critique complex arguments.

We provide the frameworks needed for both text analysis and independent reflection, ensuring you are fully prepared for each component of the IB assessment.

Paper 1: This exam covers the core theme of being human and your chosen optional themes. We help you master the art of writing philosophical essays that demonstrate both depth and breadth of thought.
Paper 2: This paper focuses on a specific philosophical text you have studied in class. We teach you how to analyse the author’s arguments and provide a critical evaluation of their ideas.
Paper 3 (HL only): This exam requires you to respond to an unseen text about the nature of philosophy itself. We help you develop the ability to reflect on the philosophical activity and its place in the world.
Internal Assessment (IA): Both SL and HL students complete a philosophical analysis of a non-philosophical stimulus, such as a film, song, or news article. Our tutors act as mentors to help you identify the philosophical problem and write a structured analysis.
Ongoing Tuition
If you are happy, this will then evolve into regular tuition, overseen by our Director who will create the strategy and provide frequent updates.
