IB Mathematics AA is designed for students who enjoy the thrill of mathematical proof and want to explore the theoretical foundations of the subject. You will spend a significant amount of time on calculus, trigonometry, and complex numbers, developing the skills needed for careers in engineering, physics, or mathematics.

We focus on building your ability to handle unfamiliar problems by applying a deep understanding of mathematical principles. Tutors guide you through the more challenging parts of the syllabus, such as induction and differential equations, ensuring you can construct rigorous arguments.
Since the course includes both calculator and non-calculator papers, our sessions are tailored to sharpen your mental maths and your ability to use technology effectively. We provide the problem solving strategies needed for high level papers, ensuring you are fully prepared for each component of the IB assessment.

Paper 1: This is a non-calculator exam consisting of short and long answer questions. We help you develop the algebraic fluency and speed needed to succeed without technological aid.
Paper 2: This exam allows the use of a graphic display calculator. We teach you how to use your calculator as a powerful tool for investigation and solving complex functions.
Paper 3 (HL only): This is a problem solving paper consisting of two long, investigative questions. We help you develop the resilience and high level thinking required to tackle these extended mathematical tasks.
Internal Assessment (IA): Both SL and HL students complete a mathematical exploration. Our tutors act as mentors to help you choose a topic that interests you and apply mathematical modelling to an independent research project.
Ongoing Tuition
If you are happy, this will then evolve into regular tuition, overseen by our Director who will create the strategy and provide frequent updates.
