Biology is a great course because it explores how all living things work and evolve, giving you the foundation to tackle global challenges like disease and nature conservation.
We match students with experienced Biology tutors from the UK's best universities. Having successfully navigated the process themselves, they have the first-hand expertise to help others do the same.

Essay Competitions, Research Projects, and Academic Mentoring
With university applications more competitive than ever, it's never been more important to stand out.
Essay competitions and research projects are great ways to display your passion for your chosen subject and learn more about a topic that excites you. What's more, it gives you something interesting to talk about in your personal statement and at interview, and prepares you for the sort of work that is undertaken at Oxbridge and other top universities.
Our expert tutors can help you identify a project or competition that is aligned with your goals, and then support you as you complete it, helping you to excel.
If it's too early to begin preparing for your personal statement and admissions test, or you just want your application to stand out that much more, you may benefit from academic mentoring. You will meet with a tutor every couple of weeks, and discuss readings, ideas, and current events with the aim of broadening your subject knowledge and deepening your passion before you make your university application. It's a great way to stay at the top of your class, and will give you the confidence you need when it's time to apply.

"We contacted Avalon to help with our daughter's Oxford application. They created a year-long plan for her reading, work experience, personal statement, LNAT and interview, and paired her with a tutor actually studying Law at Oxford themselves. Thanks to their help, she received an offer, and will begin her Law studies at Oxford in the autumn. Thank you!"
